Who doesn’t love feeling beautiful? When you look good, you feel good and radiate confidence and poise. And what’s one of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to totally transform your look? Makeup. Even the most attractive face can look washed out without it. Ever seen celebrities without their war paint on? We rest our case.
Contrary to what you may have heard, there are no hard and fast rules when it comes to what you should or shouldn’t do. Just do what makes you feel gorgeous. And try to avoid repeating the same familiar look over and over. Get out of your makeup rut and experiment. Make a statement. Showcase your creativity and adventurousness. Your face is your canvas! And while we’re on the subject of makeup as art...Look 1: Pretty in Pink—and Purple
Using a basic eye shadow brush, apply pink mineral eye dust from the upper lash line to the crease, blending upward. Use bright-purple eye dust in the crease, again blending upward. Highlight the brow bone with a neutral shade. Line the upper and lower lids and add fake lashes (as shown on model) or just use mascara if you prefer. Color in your lips with a pink lip liner then apply bright-pink lip gloss.
Look 2: Silver Screen Starlet
Highlight the twinkle in your eye by dusting iridescent white mineral eye glitter all over your eyelid. Frame your peepers by filling in your brows, and use mascara and a neutral to black eyeliner on your upper and lower lids. Color in your lips with a red lip liner then apply a generous coat of deep-red lip gloss for a sultry, cherry-red pout and whiter-looking teeth. Now you’re ready for your close-up!
Look 3: Smoke Gets on Your Eyes
Using your trusty eye shadow brush, apply blue-black mineral eye dust from the upper lash line to the crease, blending upward. Work turquoise eye dust into the crease, blending upward, then use a neutral shade on your brow bone. Now for the fun part: Line your upper and lower lids with black eyeliner then smudge the lower lash line. Apply turquoise eye dust below the eye with a flat, angled eye shadow brush. Fake lashes optional. For a still-sexy pout that doesn’t compete with your smoldering eyes, use a nude lip liner all over your lips then top them off with sparkly clear lip gloss.
Dust eye glitter on top of your eye makeup. Where and how much is up to you. A fixative product or even aloe gel, which you can find at your local drugstore, will help it stick for more intense coverage. Try metallic fuchsia eye glitter with Look 1 and metallic black and silver glitter with Look 3.
Use eye glitter on your lips for more sparkle. Dust it on top of your lip color or gloss, which will act as a fixative. We recommend metallic fuchsia with bright-pink lip gloss. Iridescent white glitter, of course, can be used with any shade, but we think it looks especially cool with iridescent violet lip gloss. If you want to get ultra-futuristic, use metallic black and silver glitter on top of clear lip gloss.
You can even use eye dust with lip gloss for a rich, iridescent dual tone. Dust it on before applying your lip gloss. Don’t be afraid to play around with different color combinations to find what works for you. Hey, you can always wipe it off! Ah, if only all of life were that easy. And to really make your look pop, add matching colored hair extensions, like magenta, pink or purple for Look 1, platinum or red for Look 2, and turquoise or black for Look 3.
Not really into drama? That’s OK too. For a radiant glow with a hint of sparkle, dust mineral body shimmer on your face, neck and anywhere you want to feel sexy.
